An estoppel letter from a Homeowners Association (HOA) or Condominium Association is an official certification of a condo or homeowner’s financial obligations to the association, such as monthly maintenance fees.
When purchasing or refinancing a condominium or home in a HOA or COA, an estoppel letter from the association is required to show the bank how much money is owed on a monthly basis and how much money is owed in special assessments, such as for repairs or painting. It will also detail any outstanding charges to the homeowner.
